In this position I am responsible for the daily activities in our laboratory. I'm also responsible for the operation of our Illumina HiSeq2500 sequencer and our Oxford Nanopore Technologies MinION sequencers.Next to that I am involved in the high thoughput compound screens we do for the PreDiCT-TB consortium and other customers.I'm also an accredited.
The Hague Area, Netherlands
In this period I continued the research on the "time-space translation" model that started at the Hubrecht institute to obtain a doctoral degree. I defended my thesis called "Anterior-posterior axis formation in Xenopus laevis" successfully on March 25, 2009.
Utrecht Area, Netherlands
As a research technician I studied the early embryonic development of Xenopus laevis. Gene expression analysis and manipulation of gene expression during gastrulation was used to formulate the "time-space translation" model.
Wageningen Area, Netherlands
Assisted in introducing molecular biology techniques in the department of Developmental Biology. The "Differential display" technique was used to identify genes involved in rapeseed microspore embryogenesis.
Nijmegen Area, Netherlands
At the Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen I assisted PhD students in their research on the regulation of gene expression. In particular the promoters of PDGF-B, vimentin, and Desmin were studied using molecular biology techniques that were fashionable at the time.
