I came into this job with a two years experience as a software developer and an engineering educational background. However, the job itself is much more than just a pure software development job. Everyday, we have to solve a problem that geoscientists or geophysicists have in analysing their data. This requires not only an exceptional skill in software area, but also an in-depth knowledge in mathematical, statistical, as well as geoscience to some extent. Some technical knowledge that I have gained during my time in this company includes (but not limited to) cloud technology, Kubernetes, ReactJS, TypeScript, Electron. More importantly, I met a lot of nice colleagues who turned to be my good friends, too. I left the company with a heavy heart to embark on my next challenge.
