Human Rights Officer
Current- Facilitate the liaison, coordination and follow-up to the engagement with the treaty bodies by 25 Member States in South-East Asia, South Asia and North East Asia through capacity building activities on treaty body reporting process and its components.- Develop and deliver tailored technical assistance projects for treaty body engagement, including strengthening the National Mechanism for Response and Follow-Up.- Develop and execute advocacy to promote ratification of the nine core human rights treaties through an analysis of the engagement of countries in Asia with the UN Human Rights Mechanisms.- Organize briefings and other information activities on treaty body engagement for Government officials, line ministries, parliament, the judiciary, national human rights institutions and civil society, tailored to the countries' specific situation with respect to treaty body reporting.- Provide training on the use of the Universal Human Rights Index and the National Recommendations Tracking Database.
