I served as Board Vice President of the Foundation from 2012-2013 and Co-President from 2013-2018, promoting equity and access to education for the underserved students in San Mateo High School, the largest high school in the district with 40% in the reduced and free lunch program. Working with an amazing group of parents, we were successful in raising the graduation rate among students and in 2015, SMHS was recognized in the top 250 schools in the country for the first time by Newsweek magazine.
