Reduced order retrieval times from 10 minutes to 2 minutes, and automated buying shipments from the cheapest courier, saving up to 50 pence per order. • Implemented wait and retry mechanisms to access SQLite databases, eliminating regular crashes due to database locking. This allowed the team to process orders regardless of the time, adding 2.5 hours of processing time daily.• Rearranged the order management pipeline by requesting shipping labels in advance, speeding up order processing and invoicing by 2 seconds per order, and removing a dependency on an external API for the order dispatch process.• Played a key role in upgrading the order management system from PHP 5.6 to 8.1, enabling the use of up-to-date libraries and SDK's, as well as vastly improving system security.• Collaborated via Github and set up systems to securely store sensitive data and migrate databases.• Wrote scripts to delete customers' sensitive data from our WordPress website, in accordance with GDPR guidelines.
