Dr. Harold Bays is Medical Director and President of L-MARC Research Center and has served as an Investigator for over 500 clinical trials, has authored over 250 manuscripts, and has presented 100’s of scientific abstracts at national, and international scientific meetings. Dr. Bays is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology. He is a Fellow of the Obesity Medicine Association, Fellow of The Obesity Society, Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Fellow of American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, Fellow of the National Lipid Association, and Fellow of the American Society of Preventive Cardiology. Dr. Bays is the Chief Science Officer for the Obesity Medicine Association, member of the Board of Trustees of the Obesity Medicine Association, and member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Preventive Cardiology. In 2005, Dr. Bays was the first to describe and publish how “sick fat” (adiposopathy) contributes to metabolic disease. Since 2013, Dr. Bays has served as medical writer for the Obesity Medicine Association Obesity Algorithm. Among his awards include the 2015 National Lipid Association “President’s Service Award” and the 2016 Obesity Medicine Association “Obesity Medicine Clinician of the Year.”
