As an Operations Technician I worked within a team of four people on a 24/7 shift pattern. Some of my primary tasks included 24/7 monitoring and troubleshooting of server equipment, acting as a point of contact for telephone calls and emails from clients regarding IT issues and queries out-of-hours, as well as receiving, logging and managing calls. As well as this I provided 1st line support to a industry high standard for a variety of clients, along with some of the following routine tasks:• Call Logging and escalting- Logging calls and performing 1st level support, liaising with 2nd & 3rd Level engineers to escalate alerts and faults appropriately, often escalating issues out of business hours.• Start of Day, End of Day and BAU tasks - The Operations team carry out a plethora of BAU processes for a number of clients as well as performing critical End of Day tasks 7 days a week,• Client Suites - The Operations team perform a daily suite check of the entire premises, this is another monitoring task carried out by operations which is a physical check of each clients equipment, if any faults are noted the client will then be notified with regards to these.• Patching - Patching of the clients systems at times and dates agreed by themselves, this also includes essential 1st line troubleshooting of issues, with the aim to resolve and remediate whilst still inside the pre-aggreed patching window.
