I'm co-lead of the Medical Imaging Research Software Group; a joint initiative between the Collaborations team within the Centre for Advanced Research Computing (ARC), and with the Centre for Medical Image Computing (CMIC).I focus around medical imaging computing infrastructure including deploying and supporting XNAT at UCL, developing reproducible analytical pipelines and supporting safe data transfer from clinical sites.

As part of my Research Software Developer role at UCL, I have an honorary appointment at UCLH to facilitate working with the UCL/UCLH BRC Clinical and Research Informatics Unit (CRIU) to support the usage of medical imaging data for research across UCL and UCLH

Primary training centre whilst I was on the NHS Scientist Training Programme, as part of the London North Medical Physics Training Consortium. I was based in the Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering department, within the Scientific Computing section.

Substantive employer whilst I was undertaking the NHS Scientist Training Programme. Primary training occurred at UCLH, with rotations at GOSH and HCA Healthcare UK.

Visiting scholar appointment with the Patient Safety team, Centre for Health Informatics at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation

As part of a project funded by an Innovate UK SMART award, I was contracted to research and document the scope of software resources available to the design stage in synthetic biology. This involved an expansive literature search, gaining familiarity with new tools and summarising my findings in a detailed report to be passed onto the software development stage of the project.

As part of the 2014 Imperial College London iGEM team I helped develop customisable bacterial cellulose-based ultrafiltration membranes using synthetic biology approaches. As part of the diverse team I saw the project through from initial brainstorming to prototyping. Through our efforts we achieved 2nd place in the world at the international jamboree in Boston as well as winning the Manufacturing Track and several other awards.
