I led the team through a period of significant change with fluctuations in leadership as well as rapid growth and new direction. At present, I am responsible for teaching and learning within the School as well as innovation in assessment. I work closely with the leadership team to evaluate programme performance and to develop strategy to tackle any issues. More broadly, I am in involved in programme validations across my faculty and sit on university committees relating to teaching, learning and assessment.

I was responsible for the management and academic delivery of the LLB Law programmes across blended and distance learning modes of study. I managed a team of permanent staff and contractors across five study centres. I am worked to improve key metrics within the Law programmes such as progression, completion, and non- submissions. I wrote and developed the School’s new LLB programme that incorporated changes to professional regulation.

I am an experienced lecturer who has taught across the LLB and has experience of curriculum design for domestic and international programmes. In this role, I led modules in Mediation and Career planning as well as contributing to the Law of Evidence. In all my teaching, I use a range of teaching methods included problem based and blended learning. This stemmed from my time as Digital Literacy lead for Law School where I increased the use of technology and innovation in the curriculum. Additionally, I have led and delivered on flying faculty modules for the University’s joint programme based at the Southwest University of Politics and Law. I was also the co-ordinator of the Law School’s award winning employability scheme, LEDE. I regularly organised events and workshops for students including networking evenings as well as working with local legal firms to host large one off events aimed at the wider legal profession

In this role, I was responsible for implementing the University's international agenda across the Law School. I established partnerships, collaborations and projects with international institutions and furthered the internationalisation of the curriculum. I worked with partners in China, Africa and Europe during this time. In doing so, I successfully increased the international output of the Law School through student mobility but also created opportunities for income generation.

I led a flying faculty English Legal System module, which is part of an accelerated teaching programme run in partnership between Coventry University and SWUPL. As a result, I am familiar with the challenges associated with teaching international students and the differences required in course design. I was visiting China twice a year to teach and to conduct meetings on behalf of the University with our partners.

The Bureau deals almost exclusively with litigants in person as a result of the cuts to legal aid. I conducted initial interviews with clients, evaluated their evidence and prepared appropriate cases for the solicitors to advise on. Additionally, I provided email advice, conducted legal research and managed a caseload. I was able to develop an understanding of the issues effecting litigants in person and the demand that was placed on the court infrastructure as well as organisations like the Bureau. In addition, I was able to familiarise myself with other advice agencies and their processes including the Personal Support Unit, the Bar Pro Bono Unit and the Chancery Bar Litigants in Person Scheme (CLiPS). .

I volunteered at Coventry Citizen’s Advice Bureau where I led and contributed to several social policy projects, which had an impact on the locality including additional costs of education, the regulation of payday lenders and the accountability of bailiffs. As a result of these projects, the Bureau won a national award in recognition of the social policy team’s campaigning achievements. During this time, I also worked with local media to promote the campaigns and appeared on BBC Midlands Today.

I was responsible for the media output of the company including press releases, social media and blogging. This also involved raising the online profile of the company using search engine optimisation. Additionally I independently invigilated exams centrally assessed by a national body.

As a founding member, I was responsible for establish the LAC and nurturing its reputation. I had joint responsibility for interviewing and advising my clients, as well as managing my own caseload. I gained invaluable experience of case management, talking directly to clients and preparing written advice.
