Occupational Therapist working in the North East of England. Currently working in adult social care delivering assessment, intervention and reviews of packages of care. Exploring proportionate ways to meet client needs and support informal and formal carers. I also support with discharges from care homes to home with view to again assess for appropriate care, all whist enabling clients where able. I have experience in; young to elderly adults, learning disabilities, amputees and varied neurological conditions as a specialist interest. Previous experience as an Occupational Therapist working in acute medicine, different social care authority areas in the country, neuro rehabilitation, and community reablement. An additional interest to neurological conditions is that of culture and diversity and how activity and occupations are perceived and experienced from person to person. My final project/dissertation explored ‘The perceptions of Cultural Competency in newly qualified Occupational Therapists’.Still learning and enjoying every day !!
