I began working at Cheadle Hulme High School in September 2023. I am an English teacher to all year groups and the Enrichment Lead. I gained a PGCE from University of Manchester in 2019 when I went to work at St James' Catholic High School. In 2020 I became Deputy Director of the English Department (maternity cover), during which, I coordinated whole school participation in events such as World Book Day and National Poetry Day. I became am a subject mentor for PGCE students and also ran an Equality Group at school. The Equality Group was responsible for the Uniform Exchange where we collected old uniforms, and distributed to other students. Having graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in June 2016 I love to explore the paths an English degree has given me. Academic-wise I am interested in the Gothic, women's position in literature during the fin-de-siècle and cultural theory. The fin-de-siècle is particularly interesting to me as it was a time of immense change in industry, society and spirituality.In October 2016 I flew to Australia to spend time working and volunteering to explore my possibilities career-wise. I spent time writing at Colosoul magazine in Perth, giving me experience in journalism. I have spent time travelling and writing and deciding my next steps after spending so long in full-time education.
