For me, life is a wonderful journey full of fresh opportunities, incredible people, never-ending learning and deep hope and joy. A curious explorerI cannot remember a time when I did not marvel at everything I discovered. Whether that was a line of ants marching to an imaginary world or sharing a smile with a child as we mimic gorillas together high on the slopes of Mt Karisimbi, Rwanda. My curiosity has taken me to amazing places that just fuel my curiosity all the more.A rebelI never meant to be a rebel. Intuition drives my mind and if I see a way to do things better, I will team with people, jump into some design thinking and work out a solution that will have a positive impact. No need to wait. In Iceland I admired a motto I saw: 'do, then think'. That just makes so much sense to me. A creative innovatorIt has been said that ‘creativity is thinking up new things; innovation is doing new things’. My mind has developed an inseparable union between these two modes and this invades my brain whatever the context. As a child I could fly like Peter Pan – and this sense of freedom remains with me, unlocking a desire to constantly find new ways of thinking and doing. A friendI love people. I love seeing the potential in every person. I love helping people find calm in the midst of any chaos. And I love teams - teams that work together to bring a shared vision alive so that communities will thrive and flourish. And for me, kindness is the secret ingredient that spreads love throughout the world.
