Learnlife (learnlife.com) is a Barcelona-based project creating a fresh model for learning - one that is suited to the rapidly changing global contexts (see brief video below in the uploaded Media). There are 3 core Learnlife hubs - the Urban Hub in central Barcelona, the Eco Hub at Castelldefels (Barcelona) and the Home Hub (online learning). A hyflex learning models unites all three.

Rwanda

I am creating a series of children's stories based on real people I have met in Rwanda and their incredible resilience. The inspiration was the total lack of literature for Rwandese children that reflected their own rich culture. Three books published, a fourth in production and six more in my head. The project is a collaborative project - Dolph Banza (Kigali) is the illustrator of each story. Habumugisha Jean (Barack, Kigali) is the translator from English to Kinyarwanda and Michael Harris (Sydney) does the book layout and design work.

I founded the Sydney Centre for Innovation in Learning (SCIL) as an in-school research and innovation initiative whilst School Principal at NBCS (see brief video below in the uploaded Media). The ongoing energy and drive for SCIL came from the teachers and wider team who caught the vision for an organic organisation that could accelerate and promote transformation and innovation in learning. It was a rollercoaster of fun - and became a lighthouse for many other schools to recognise that they could create their own internal processes to innovate and transform the experiences of learning.

As Principal, I oversaw the development of NBCS from a smaller school of 250 to a thriving community of 1300 (see brief video below in the uploaded Media). I had the opportunity to create and start the Sydney Centre for Innovation in Learning (SCIL) during this time to support grassroots creativity in learning. SCIL was an activity of NBCS.
