As of 06/07/23, Graduated with a Bachelor’s (Hons) degree (mark 2:1) in Electrical/Electronic engineering. I have so far gained experience working within the food industry. Starting out as an apprentice for three years then spending another three as an electrical engineer working 12 hour shifts. During this time i have been able to develop skills in fault-finding various machines with or without drawings, developing mechanical + teamworking skills to supplement my growing electrical knowledge. I have developed skills in reading and understanding electrical drawings and diagrams used to diagnose faults, working with production staff, organisation for maintenance and being able to go to a problem and quickly work out the best course of action to diagnose the issue and fix it. Then when this is not possible, identify and work with the right people to solve the problem.As part of my job role i attend breakdowns, aid in machine installations, build up machinery for production, perform machine changeovers of tooling, perform maintenance/Planned-Preventative-Maintenance, move large machines safely around the factory floor, Calibrate machineryMachines i have worked with include grinders, blenders, metal-detectors, thermoformers (Multivac mainly), Sealpac + Mondini packing/sealing machinery, meat processors, scales/ weighers, blast freezers, pick and place robots, pneumatic sauce depositors, indoor storage cranes and conveyor systems, vacuum packers, auto box-packaging machines and Box steam ovens. Including various integrated systems.I am always looking to further increase my understanding of how different machines work. Even out and about in my own time i look at different things and try to figure out how it might work. Like how a traffic light system would work or an automatic payment gate to a multi-story car park and would like to have the opportunity to work and build experience with robotics, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and their programming languages like Ladder, Function block diagram or SCL.In my own time i enjoy building and water-cooling computers (Hobby could probably talk for ever about pc hardware), looking at new developing technologies and learning about them like virtual reality for example.The future of industry is automated and i would personally love to be a part of making that happen.
