I grew up in an urban working class neighborhood with a passion to make technology work. As an adolescent I would scour my neighborhood's electronic castoffs, bring them home, clean them up and attempt to integrate the components. My dad strongly tried to discourage this "hobby", but eventually purchased a mini fuse panel to protect our home from my tinkered creations. It was the Apollo Era and Apollo 13 had left a big impression on me. Equally as formative was my near-death-experience as a preschooler, which had deeply affected my Mom, whom was bound and determined that I would enter the priesthood. My life has always pivoted between those two poles - Technology and Spirituality - sometimes hitting both at the same time. I worked for United Technologies in the Space & Sea Dept. for my first job out of college. The Space Shuttle, EMU (Spacesuits) and the B2 Bomber were my everyday work projects. I followed that up with designing, building and managing a distance education program for a graduate school in four languages, which eventually grew into an online university (OLU). Now, I'm an IT Director over a globally engaged religious non-profit organization. My passions today involve InfoSec and community service. I recently moved from the 'burbs into an under-served urban community in need of stakeholders. Our heart is to improve the lives of others through engagement, dignity and service, when I'm not working to provide solutions to complex IT problems.That's the end game, that's the value add for me - Relationship.
