During my time here I shared the responsibilities of the Events Manager which included but weren't restricted to; planning and delivering conferences, private functions, dinners and weddings, organising staff rotas and pay, managing an on site functions team in the preparation and delivery of all events, organising and ordering stock and maintaining levels in relation to the events, liaising with line managers and directors regarding upcoming events and when necessary assisting in the management of the on site restaurant. My experience here taught me a lot about management of my self and other people and a great deal about problem solving and how to take on new challenges as there were often obstacles to overcome.

This job was taken on in my third year of university as my work placement, a requirement for my course. During the 18 months I was here I was involved with the selling, organisation and delivery of events, primarily corporate Christmas and summer functions with guests sometimes numbering in the thousands. Through working with good teams of managers, bar staff and suppliers we we able to transform some of London's most prestigious venues into bespoke event spaces including The Truman Brewery, The Lodge at Holborn and some fantastic temporary structures on South Bank and Bloomsbury Gardens. I learnt a huge amount about the world of events working with one of the top companies in London, something I was able to build on during my final year of university.
