To provide leadership in the security and protection of students, staff, and school property. The School Safety Coordinator manages building safety throughout the school district. Works in collaboration with the Superintendent of Schools and district administration to establish appropriate regulations, procedures, and plans to ensure safe and secure school facilities. The School Safety Coordinator's responsibilities include supervising and providing oversight for all school safety and security personnel; ensuring safety and security policies and procedures comply with state laws and regulations, and providing necessary training and resources to the district on matters relating to school safety and security. The School Safety Coordinator will also serve as the district's liaison with local law enforcement, as well as national, state, and community agencies and organizations, in matters of school safety and security.Job Summary: Reviews, updates, and provides guidance on the Uniform State Memorandum of Agreement between Education and Law Enforcement Officials N.J.A.C. 6A:16-6.2(b);Serves as the Primary Emergency Management official for the District, as well as liaison with public safety personnel during actual emergencies;Coordinates and updates the District Security Manual to align with the New Jersey Department of Education's Minimum Requirements for School Safety and Security Plans;Provides guidance and oversight on School Security Drill Law N.J.S. 18A:41-1 to meet the current best practices in school security;Provides guidance on safety and security for district events, trips, etc., while monitoring regional current events in case of the need for heightened awareness;Participates in the development and maintenance of the District's Crisis Response Plan;Supports security training for staff, faculty, contract employees, and others who work directly with Hackensack Public School students;Advises in the development of crisis management/emergency plans
