Harry Dobbs is a UK and Eire (EU) Chartered Architect, Urban Designer and Product Designer and founder of Harry Dobbs Design Ltd, an international award winning Design office based in London.Harry has worked with city and transport authorities, developers and cultural institutions within UK, Europe , US, Asia and the Middle East. This has involved managing integrated design teams on ground breaking and culturally significant projects that range in scale from urban frameworks and area masterplans to transport passenger experience, public realm transformation and urban installations and furniture. As a consultant he has structured design briefs, advised on design team selection and managed international design competitions for a series of high profile projects of an international standing (including The London 2012 Olympic Village). He has also advised the UK Prime Minister’s office and UK Government's Commission for the Built Environment on current urban design issues.His work has required a full understanding of the elements that come together to provide a socially, economically and culturally vibrant urban environment and its required integration with the wider systems of urban management and infrastructure. The projects where Harry has applied this integrated approach include- The Downtown Doha Project for the rebuilding of the Qatari Capital’s city centre, - City wide Infrastructure design language for NEOM, KSA, - Cultural strategy, furniture and products for AlUla Cultural Oasis, KSA- Post Covid Passenger Experience for the Taiwan Civil Aviation Authority, - The Qatar Public Realm Project for the National Highways Authority, - Kaohsiung International Terminal for Taiwan Airports Authority.- Urban furniture and sustainable transport branding for the New York Department of Transport,- The 'Worlds First Smart Street' for Europe's premium retail district, West End London- Culturally Smart Strategy for the City of London Financial District- Event based installations for the London and Athens Olympics- Initiatives to encourage a new generation of enterprise with Tech City and London based flexible offices environments.His professional work has been informed by a background in post-graduate architecture and urban design research, both within academia and for public bodies and industry. Prior to setting up Harry Dobbs Design he has worked in practice in the UK, France, Austria and Hong Kong, and lived in Muscat, Oman.
