I have been creating Internet-based educational software, especially online experiential lessons based on real science experiments with hands-on measurement and supporting material for better educating students across the world in science for nearly two decades. Building on available technology to make science more engaging, more exciting, and more available gets me excited every day.My colleagues and I are dedicated to the proposition that students can learn science, the real thing, online. We don't ignore classroom lab experiences but build on that idea to expand its potential by using the Internet creatively. We fully support the NGSS goals and principles and have, by design, from the beginning. Learning real science supports the development of good thinking skills, a capability required for today's best jobs. We'd like everyone to think "without the box."We're not creating the same old simulations that have been around since the last century. We're doing something new and different that uses real experiments instead of simulations. We had to break new ground in many ways to succeed in building this system.
