Over the last 10+ years I've had the opportunity to work with investors, governments, private companies, and development partners to tackle complex issues and accelerate development in topics including clean energy transitions, sustainable agriculture, climate change, economic development, and social equity. This work includes investment- and policy-related roles, as well as operational and government roles. What makes me tick are interesting, analytical problems as I love bringing technical rigor to my work.Recently I led work in the Renewable Energy and Energy Access Practice at Open Capital Advisors, an advisory firm with HQ in Nairobi, Kenya. There, I led advisory and consulting mandates across 20+ countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. I have developed blended finance facilities and conducted due diligence on behalf of investors, and also supported with sell-side capital raising mandates. I've also worked with companies and investors to develop strategy, conduct market studies, and oversee several technical assistance programs for companies across the region. Prior to Open Capital, I worked at SJF Ventures, an impact-focused venture capital firm in the United States, at the Rocky Mountain Institute in their Electricity practice. I'm from Bermuda, where I have worked in the private sector and in Government. I'm passionate about islands and economic development, and I also have a keen interest in education and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
