At just twenty-six years old, Harry McCann is a strategic advisor and communicator with a proven track record in business, media, and politics. Currently, he serves as Executive Business Support to the CEO at Dublin Bus.Harry's career journey began at the age of fifteen when he gained global recognition for creating Kid Tech, a coding education programme for children, earning him the nickname "Ireland's answer to Bill Gates". Building on this early success, Harry harnessed his passion for STEM and experience in the technology sector to launch the world's first Digital Youth Council (DYC). During his four years of leadership, the council formed strategic partnerships with industry leaders including the Irish Government and European Union, effectively amplifying young voices in STEM and education.Harry quickly established himself as an influential voice in youth affairs, playing a pivotal role in shaping landmark digital strategies and policies across Europe as an advisor for both the European Union and the Irish Government. His efforts earned him international recognition, most notably being named one of the JCI Top Ten Outstanding Young People in the World in 2017.Amassing nearly a decade of media experience as a journalist and pundit, Harry has contributed to national television and radio shows and written op-ed columns for publications such as the Irish Independent and thejournal.ie. He was selected as one of only twelve young journalists for the European Pool of Young Journalists by the European Commission from 2021 to 2022. As a sought-after keynote speaker and panelist, Harry has shared his insights at more than 200 events across ten countries, reaching an audience of over a quarter of a million attendees. He leverages this extensive experience in his current role to effectively manage media relations and public engagements, craft compelling narratives, and train executives to enhance their communication skills and public presence.Harry joined Dublin Bus in September 2022 as the Consumer PR and Media Relations Executive, responsible for managing the company's press office and acting as company spokesperson for Ireland's largest public transport provider. Harry was promoted to his current role in June 2024.Harry graduated with an honours degree in Digital Humanities and IT from University College Cork in 2021, having been awarded a full scholarship for his work in entrepreneurship and innovation. He further advanced his education with a Master’s in Political Communications from Dublin City University, graduating at the top of his class.
