I returned to C+SA during the placement unit of my MArch. I resumed many of my previous roles, including a number of hospitality projects. Additionally, I was in part responsible for the design and planning consent of a handful of larger projects.C+SA were appointed to design the refurbishment and expansion of a large office building in Bristol, which included significant structural alterations to a multi-storey building. I carried out conceptual design tasks in conjunction with the client. This developed to a full set of planning drawings, which was approved shortly after I left in March.I was also involved in the conceptual and detailed design of an expansion to a listed building on the Harbourside in Bristol. This project required thorough understanding of the listed building, and the structural implications of the client's goals were significant. The brief also required the proposal to be near zero in carbon usage. I was involved in client and consultant meetings, and produced various iterations of the outline design for approval.Finally, I was responsible for two small residential projects in Bristol. Both of these projects were to an outline planning consent stage for flats. I lead meetings with the client and planning officers for pre-application enquiries, which ultimately informed the outline design.

During my first placement and C+SA I was primarily responsible for delivering a number of high intensity hospitality projects. These projects ranged in size and budget, but all had specific constraints on site, most importantly that they were delivered to a very high standard in a short period of time, in order to cut operating losses of the client. Consequently, I was involved in all stages of construction, ranging from conceptual design, to planning consent, listed building and building regulations approval, and finally to site and post completion activities. In addition to these projects, I undertook supporting roles in a number of other projects within the office. These were notable because of unusual listed building conditions that required careful consideration of design proposals.

Development of campus strategy and masterplan at University of Cumbria. I worked directly with the Project Leader to develop the necessary drawings and models required for the masterplan and to co-ordinate contributions from the wider design team. I produced concept work and completed an extensive digital model which formed part of the final submission.Contribution towards the preparation of ideas, drawings and models for a design competition for a new Library at the University of Lancaster, along with a new Engineering building and the wider University of Lancaster Masterplan.
