Mr. Doppelt is Managing Director of Corporate Development in the Corporate Finance Group at CIT. In this role he is responsible for transactions and investments involving the purchase of businesses and portfolios in the corporate finance space, including middle market loans, leases and real estate.Most recently he was part of the core team that led the Flagstar acquisition – purchase and integration of a $1.3B portfolio. He has 20+ years’ experience in financial services identifying profitable investment opportunities and structuring transactions to maximize returns.

Prior to joining CIT, Mr. Doppelt was a Principal at Vantage Capital Group. At Vantage, he was a senior manager responsible for overall management and sourcing/leading financial services transactions. He led advisory services to US small cap banks and the recapitalization efforts for a $2 billion Florida thrift.

Mr. Doppelt was a Managing Director at GE Capital where he was a senior member of a highly successful global M&A team. As lead originator, he called on senior management at major North American and European financial institutions, and generated over 200 acquisition opportunities. He personally sourced, negotiated and closed $7 billion in transaction volume and also managed due diligence efforts and negotiations on an additional $17 billion in transactions. Deals included structured finance transactions, acquisitions of financial services businesses and portfolios, joint ventures, and new product offerings. During his 12 years at GE, he was widely credited for a number of highly innovative structures and financial products, and for generating over $500 million net income.

Commercial Banking and Corporate Finance OfficerMr. Doppelt founded and developed a successful middle market corporate finance business for American National Bank of Chicago. The group advised Bank clients on mergers and acquisitions, interest rate hedging strategies, and private placements. Mr. Doppelt closed transactions aggregating over $400MM. Earlier in his career, Mr. Doppelt was a Commercial Banking Officer at American National Bank of Chicago. He was responsible for managing a $500 million commercial banking portfolio and cross selling the Bank’s cash management, real estate and investment management products. Mr. Doppelt was consistently among the leading new business generators for the Bank.
