I provided technical support to a team developing programs planning, guidelines, and proposals by following resilience framework for the Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Resilient Program in vulnerable coastal settlements, both rural and urban. My expertise included designing action plans, budget development, data assessment systems, progress reports, strategies, standard operating procedures, and project evaluations covering various areas such as livelihood, food security, climate-resilient infrastructure, market linkage, disaster risk reduction, water sanitation and hygiene, renewable energy, mental and physical health, people with disabilities, and skill development. These efforts aimed to achieve short and long-term program goals, prioritizing locally led adaptation to enhance local communities' coping and adaptive capacities, reduce disaster risks, and promote long-term mitigation for normal people as well as older people, person with disabilities, women, children etc.In the realm of climate change adaptation, I ensured communities embraced nature-based solutions like climate-smart agriculture and agroforestry. We also established resilient infrastructure to guarantee safe water access through rainwater harvesting and tube wells. My leadership played a vital role in managing administrative tasks, fundraising, establishing procedures, and finalizing budgets for smooth program execution. I collaborated and partnership with various stakeholders, including government bodies, donors, and NGO coordination teams, successfully driving disaster response initiatives and contributing to policy-making committees. Facilitated stakeholders’ visits including donors and government high officials. My dedication to humanitarian principles and capacity building ensured the delivery of quality services for sustainable community development.

In this position, I provided technical support for the development of various programs, guidelines, and proposals, as well as project plans. My responsibilities included conducting assessments, implementing and monitoring projects across all aspects. One of my key tasks was to develop and update the Multi-hazard Contingency Plan, ensuring effective preparedness and response to emergencies in coordination with different sectors and programs. Additionally, I played a crucial role in establishing a robust emergency setup, including field operations, planning, and the functioning of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) while designing the response capacity of staff and volunteers. Collaborating with stakeholders, I conducted simulations to enhance our emergency response capabilities. I also oversaw various aspects of emergency response, including shelter, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), Disaster Risk Management (DRM) with Nature-based Solutions (NbS), climate resilience, protection, livelihood, cash-based interventions, stock procurement, warehouse management, and emergency staff deployment. In alignment with the response plan, I developed an emergency HR roster. Furthermore, I ensured that valuable insights and lessons learned from research and DRM implementation were documented and incorporated into staff development processes. As a representative of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), I actively engaged in relevant forums and meetings with stakeholders.

In this role, I played a crucial role in providing technical support for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and climate resilience initiatives using nature-based solutions in both guest and host communities. Working alongside the program team and the Cyclone Preparedness Programme (CPP) at the refugee camp level, my focus was on enhancing our accountability and support for the guest community, while also respecting their cultural norms and traditions. I actively contributed to various tasks such as budget preparation, monthly/quarterly/annual cash forecasts, and reporting. Additionally, I facilitated regular program team coordination meetings and ensured thorough documentation of meeting minutes. One of my main responsibilities involved overseeing the assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting processes, as well as coordinating with stakeholders involved in camp settlements. Furthermore, I actively engaged with camp communities, supervising field activities when required, to ensure the smooth execution of the projects.

In my role as a disaster risk reduction (DRR) and emergency response professional, I achieved significant milestones. I designed a comprehensive framework for DRR and emergency preparedness plans, aligned with the organization's global strategies. Providing project management and technical support to country teams, I enhanced their emergency response capabilities. Integration of emergency and DRR measures into various sectors, such as Education, Health, Youth, Microfinance, and Livelihood, promoted resilience-building. Notably, I established the "Emergency Preparedness and Response Programme" in BRAC International, securing support from senior management. Mobilizing multi-country funds, I strengthened disaster preparedness in Myanmar, Uganda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Liberia. Engaging with regional and global forums, I fostered cooperation, accessing resources and contributing to policy dialogues. I actively promoted safeguarding policies to ensure the safety of team members and played a key role in leading emergency responses to various disasters. My efforts significantly bolstered BRAC International's emergency response capabilities and promoted humanitarian endeavors on a global scale.

As an Assistant Programme Manager at Friendship, my major responsibilities involved managing the Disaster Management Programme, focusing on preparedness, response, rehabilitation, food security, and WASH projects in riverine and coastal areas. I also developed a strategic plan for the program's quality improvement and provided capacity support for organizational development. In addition to managing and supporting partners and field offices, I engaged in identifying funding opportunities and writing high-quality reports. Community mobilization for disaster risk reduction was a crucial aspect of my work, and I advocated for the community's needs at the national level. Some of my key accomplishments included earning a double promotion, developing essential disaster management strategies and emergency response procedures, conducting humanitarian responses and rehabilitation efforts, establishing education and protection programs for vulnerable communities, and leading various infrastructure projects to improve living conditions. I also played a significant role in shaping the "Bangladesh Shelter Guideline" and provided regular capacity-building support to all Friendship office staff. Through my efforts, I contributed to the well-being of numerous communities and enhanced disaster resilience in Bangladesh.

In this role, I was responsible for managing various projects and ensuring they met their objectives within the allocated budget and timeframe. I developed and implemented effective project strategies in collaboration with the project team, beneficiaries, and stakeholders. Monitoring project activities and evaluating progress were vital aspects, which I carried out using both quantitative and qualitative data. Additionally, I played a key role in developing new proposals aligned with the country's strategy. In times of humanitarian crises, I swiftly responded by conducting damage and needs assessments. My supervision of project managers and their day-to-day operations led to enhanced capacity building and appraisals. Managing project budgets was crucial, and I ensured that all expenses adhered to the allocated funds, promoting accountability and good governance. My networking and partnerships with various stakeholders were essential for successful project outcomes. Moreover, I actively participated in cluster/coordination meetings, representing the organization and providing valuable feedback to both project staff and senior management. Some notable accomplishments include receiving the "Innovation Award 2012" for the "Friendship Emergency 3 Tire Health System" benefitting vulnerable communities in Bangladesh. Additionally, I successfully established the "Disaster Management and Infrastructure Development Programme" and introduced the "Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction" approach in multiple regions. I also carried out humanitarian responses and rehabilitation efforts, constructing numerous shelters, houses, latrines, and tube wells in both northern and southern areas of the country. My partnerships with various organizations, along with providing DRR, Life-Saving Skill, and Livelihood training, contributed significantly to the betterment of Bangladesh's vulnerable communities.

In my previous role, I had the major responsibility of assisting the team in understanding disaster risk reduction concepts, policies, and principles, with a specific focus on Bangladesh. I successfully implemented the Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction (CMDRR) project and played a key role in establishing state-of-the-art post-disaster damage and needs assessment methodologies as well as multi-hazard risk assessment processes and procedures. Moreover, I developed a strong network and partnership with various stakeholders in the disaster risk management field, including the government, UN clusters, other agencies, and civil society. As part of my duties, I designed capacity-building and monitoring plans for staff and beneficiaries, with a particular focus on project success. Furthermore, I was involved in creating concept notes, proposals, action plans, and presentations for relevant stakeholders. Throughout my tenure, I regularly provided project reports to donors and diligently monitored and supervised the project. Some of my key accomplishments include working in both rural and urban communities of southern Bangladesh, responding to devastating cyclones such as "Cyclone SIDR" in 2007 and "Cyclone Aila" in 2009, and providing capacity-building on Disaster Risk Reduction, Risk Assessment, Life-Saving Skills, and Livelihood to more than 2,000 vulnerable and affected southern communities. Additionally, I successfully organized simulations of natural hazard-induced disasters in both urban and rural communities, actively involving local actors in these exercises.
