CurrentAt ECMWF I have a number of roles as a Computational Scientist in the Computing Department :- Developing a version of the NEMO ocean model that uses single-precision floating-point arithmetic. This will aid in ECMWF's efforts to run high-resolution Earth-System models for weather prediction.- Investigating the applications of the Modular Supercomputing Architecture to ECMWF's high-performance forecasting model, as part of the EuroHPC project DEEP-SEA.- Porting and testing components of the ECMWF weather forecasting model to very large supercomputers, notably Frontier at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory - the largest supercomputer in the world.- Development of the open-source software package for spectral transforms of meteorological fields, ecTrans.
