The Do Something Cool Foundation is a 501(c) non-profit that I formed back in late 2021 along with my sister. Woven from our own narratives of victory, despair, and the profound influence of remarkable people who've crossed their paths — the life-changing encounters with individuals and communities who dared to dream and act. This project is myway of paying it forward, a nod to those who've opened doors and shown that the horizon is full of limitless possibilities.Currently, we are a non operating foundation which means we write grant checks to other 501c (and similar) orgs to fund various programs that offer cost-free opportunities and experiences for disadvantaged youth to be inspired and develop life skills. Operating under the radar since late 2021 but now opening things up a bit via pulling together a more cohesive brand, website, & other digital platforms. Goals being to get some exposure so like-minded orgs can start submitting grantee applications for funding, to kick things up a notch with deeper partnerships (with both non and for profit orgs), and to initiate unique project collaborations in the worlds of creative arts, sport, and entrepreneurship. Our LPs have experience in scaling DoorDash from a seed stage company to a $50B IPO, our goal is to support the next wave of transformational companies. Our members are early DoorDash employees that are situated all over the world, with a broad range of experiences in product, operations, engineering, marketplace dynamics, corp-dev, finance, data-science, international expansion and government affairs. They helped build one of the world's largest consumer businesses from seed to IPO.We accept Backers who are either former or current DoorDash alums, who are personally known to us, or who are active angel investors that can add value to the companies that we invest in.
