An interdisciplinary scientist working at the interfaces between operational satellite data provision and marine applications. Building from a background in Environmental Sciences, I have developed expertise in marine remote sensing across the value chain; at the programmatic level, and from the validation of data and product development, through to academic, commercial, and regulatory applications in the marine environment. I have experience in impact traceability and the design of theories of change and monitoring and evaluation frameworks.I am passionate about extending the use of Earth observation data from satellites for the widest benefit of society. I currently work in this capacity at EUMETSAT, leading marine user engagement and training, with a particular focus on Copernicus and the Sentinel-3 and 6 missions.I have research experience in the field of ocean optics and I am a keen and capable programmer working to further open science principles. I am dedicated to the communication of science as an essential part of my work and seek to use social media and online tools to their full capacity in this regard. Supporting my work in science, I have contributed to many intersectional equality initiatives (including Athena Swan and capacity building in developing countries), and I am a certified mental health first aider.
