As production assistant my duties include: writing and fulfilling work orders, racking and transferring wine, barreling down, sampling, topping barrels, monitoring wine for flaws, updating monthly inventory and government reports, operating a forklift, running lab trials and analysis and participating in monthly tastings with the winemaking team. At Yangarra Estate I was responsible for red fermentation control, additions, racking, barrel work, lab analysis and forklift operation.

My main job is to provide customer service to guests, answer any questions they may have, help them to find certain items or provide them with recommendations and information about wine, beer, ciders and spirits. Additional duties include restocking shelves and displays and meeting with distributors to taste/rate new wines, beers and liquors to potentially sell.

Hand sorting fruit, running lab sample analysis (Brix, pH, TA, FSO2, VA), additions, barrel work, racking, punch downs and pump overs, press operation, operating the forklift, cleaning and all other regular duties expected of a cellar hand.
