Nas Academy brings people together, through technology. We are building a “layer 2 solution” that integrates with various tools such as Discord, Zoom, Stripe, Gdrive, Calendly and many more to enable brands and individuals to build and manage their own communities. I lead Strategic Partnerships in Nas Academy and some of my career highlights include: 1) Employee #1 of Nas Academy’s B2B team responsible for growing and managing our B2B P&L from USD2M and owning the end to end sales funnel process. 2) Developed strategic relationships with C-suite executives/officers in SMEs, large enterprises and governmental bodies in sectors such as financial services/payments, transportation, automotive, crypto exchanges, play-to-earn, media, content creation, sports, education and gaming companies. Key markets include USA, Singapore, Vietnam, India, Philippines, Israel and UAE. Notable partners: Grab, Coinbase, Syfe, Canon, ONE Championship, Polygon, VinFast, Axie Infinity, Epidemic Sound, Metapurse, MX TakaTak, PSB Academy and AppsFlyer.3) Responsible for connecting with internal stakeholders in product, engineering, marketing, operations and finance to drive the activation of these partnerships and providing client feedback to shape the product roadmap. 4) Grew, coached and managed a team of 4 individual contributors.

Klook is the leading travel and leisure e-commerce platform for experiences and services anytime, anywhere. Founded in 2014, we are here to inspire and enable more moments of joy through over 490,000 activities in over 1,000 destinations. I joined Klook as a Corporate Development Associate and graduated as a Corporate Development Associate Manager within 1.5 years. Scope of my responsibilities included: 1) Deepening our foothold in existing markets through strategic partnerships with governmental organsisations or targeted players in the Fintech, Travel and/or hospitality space to increase distribution. In particular, I led the regional strategic partnerships with Grab/GrabPay and Ant Financial Group (Alipay, GCash, Dana, Kakaopay, Touch ‘n Go and more) in over 8 markets which included structuring the commercials of the e-wallet integration and leading the project execution of these integrations by ensuring tight communication channels with Product, Tech, Marketing, Finance, Legal and Tax. 1) Exploring and launching new business lines beyond our existing verticals. This led to the global launch of Klook Flex (a flexible cancellation policy) which paved the way for the launch of Klook’s insurance vertical. Additionally, I also sourced and signed the regional deal with Genting Cruise Lines during the start of the pandemic, which soon became one of Klook’s main revenue drivers during the pandemic. 2) Expanding into newer markets and thus I had to conduct market research / competitive landscape research to analyse and evaluate feasibility of various proposals. Eventually, we decided to pursue a joint venture with Seera Group (based in Saudi Arabia) as our preferred partner to enter into the MENA region. My key responsibilities were to work on the financial model to forecast the investment amount required and projected ROI, define the JV structure and roles and responsibilities of parties and draft the term-sheet for the proposed JV.

Involved in a wide array of high value commercial matters including insolvency and restructuring, shareholder and contractual disputes before the Supreme Court of Singapore, Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) and Singapore International Arbitration Centre. Notable Matters:- Acted in major insolvency and restructuring events including Swiber, Ezra, EMAS and Opus Offshore- Acted in the SICC for a global petrochemical group and its chairman in claims associated with the collapse of Jurong Aromatics Corporation: Arovin Ltd v Hadiran Sridjaja [2018] 5 SLR 117- Acted for a prominent hotel management company involving contractual interpretation and claims of infringement of intellectual property and defamation
