Working for the Improvement Partnership for Hospitals team, the programme of work was involved with "whole systems" service improvement within acute hospitals.My role was to develop a contact management system and to define and support the knowledge management processes within the team.

To manage the ICT Strategy of the New Ways of Working Team.This involved service levels with Department of Health IT services as the team was based at Richmond House in Westminister.Reporting to the Communications Manager, I worked closely with the office manager to develop a support service for peripatetic staff and homeworkers.I was also involved in projects around the Modernisation Agency and sat on the Knowledge Management group. I also made a contribution to the initial set-up of the Changing Workforce Programmes hotline which then migrated to the agency-wide "Connections" helpline set up to provide a one-stop information service for the NHS about programmes offered by the agency.

To manage the Changing Workforce Programme's database of redesigned roles across the NHS and to update the website that published the details.

Developed an Intranet providing accessible local health information to support call centre staff. It provided a consistent front-end for information held on different databases, which I was also responsible for developing. Three other NHS Direct Sites started to use the Intranet as a template for their local information. Provided full training and support to call centre in all aspects of IT.Contributed to the NHS Direct National Reports Subgroup. Involved in developing a reporting framework for staff performance. Worked with the Clinical Training and Quality Manager to develop a Continuous Quality Improvements framework. Project managed databases developed in-house using Access 2000 and Visual Basic for Applications. Intranet pages were built using Frontpage 2000, HTML, VBScript, Javascript and Active Server Pages on Internet Information Server version 4.0 for NT. Supervised Systems Support Officers.
