Criminal defense externship

I provided administrative support for the federally funded MARC U*STAR program at St. Mary's University. The program supports undergraduate students who are active in biomedical research and intend to pursue a PhD.

I worked with the Office of Student Retention to serve students placed on academic probation and those who were academically at-risk. I helped students develop an academic success plan, and met with them regularly to monitor their progress and ensure follow-through on their plan. I also taught a section of the Personal & Academic Development course for freshman in the fall and spring semesters.

I served as the primary academic and career advisor for freshmen biology majors. I advised all pre-health students on potential career opportunities and how to pursue them. I coordinated application processes for various academic and professional programs, conducted application workshops for students applying to academic and professional programs, and coordinated the development and implementation of articulation agreements with professional education institutions. I also co-coordinated a grant-funded pre-medical summer camp in conjunction with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
