ResponsibilitiesI manage information security standards implemented within BSA to comply with the Queensland Government’s Information Architecture Standard on Information Security. Work with System Administrators in the implementation and monitoring of BSA data access, email virus protection, data integrity, spam prevention, filtering, and remote security access. Ensure compliance to the Information Security Policy and Standards of BSA. Work with IS Management and external providers in planning, development and implementation of security policies across multiple platforms. Advise IS Management of potential problems or suggested improvements relating to the support of BSA’s IT Network, Systems and Security. Monitor new projects to ensure that security issues and impacts are considered. Manage projects, including developing briefs and plans, and providing regular project reports to the Manager, Information Services, specifically including Information Security and Information Privacy. Ensuring IT policies, standards, and procedures and contribute to the development of standards and procedures that relate to the security on Information Services facilities at BSA. Administer BSA’s Security Education Program. Provide input into the ICT Strategic Plan and ICT Policy and Standards development on aspects relating information security and associated information security infrastructure.

Coordinated the day to day operations of the BSA IS Helpdesk and System Administrators. Work with IS Management and external providers in defining security frameworks for existing and new systems. Work with IS Management and external providers in planning, development and implementation of security policies across multiple platforms. Mentor and train operational services staff on potential problems or suggested improvements relating to the support of the BSA’s IT Network, Systems and Security. Ensure IT policies, procedures and other relevant documentation is maintained and kept up to date.
