Recruited to inter-group role and worked on several experimental and computational fluid dynamics projects including the development of new aerodynamic load control techniques and improved numerical simulation of gust-wing interactions and flow control actuators. I worked independently and collaboratively to fulfill project objectives. Key responsibilties and achievements:• Designed, constructed and tested wind tunnel models and novel flow control actuators • Implemented innovative computational fluid dynamics (CFD) boundary conditions and modeling techniques for the simulation of gust-wing interactions • Conducted flow diagnostics using techniques including stereoscopic PIV, pressure, force and hot wire anemometry measurements• Developed comprehensive post-processing programs to analyze diverse, large-scale (tera-byte) datasets, extracted key conclusions and validated fundamental aerodynamic theories• Supervised PhD and Master’s students, providing design and technical support• Liaised with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery of key components and equipment• Effectively communicated key findings through four academic conference papers and three presentations.

Employed to assist project sponsor, Airbus UK, in the design, development and testing of novel aerodynamic flow control actuator: the mini-tab. Supervised by Dr. David Cleaver and Prof. Ismet Gursul.Key responsibilities and achievements:• Designed, engineered and tested the actuator, meeting project sponsor performance requirements• Developed programmatic codes to analyze large, quantitative datasets obtained from wind tunnel tests• Established a system resonance calibration technique for dynamic force measurements• Applied data analysis skills, technical expertise and theoretical knowledge to quantify actuator’s efficacy through parametric analyses• Effectively communicated conclusions and progress to the project sponsor via industrial reports and sponsor meetings, and to a wider audience via academic journal articles (2) and at national (4) and international conferences (2)
While completing my PhD, I was recruited to a short-term, highly collaborative project examining the aero-structural properties of two aeroelastic stiffness tailoring techniques. The project was seed funded by the UK Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI).Key responsibilities and achievements:• Worked within a multidisciplinary team to develop novel wing load control technologies• Delivered project aims within extremely tight timeframe, with the results presented in a conference paper.
