About Heather A.

"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn." — Benjamin Franklin ══ INSPIRATION ══ Growing up in Omaha, Nebraska, my mother was a single mom who worked multiple jobs to take care of my two siblings and me. As the oldest, I have been responsible from a young age. At fourteen, I started my first job in the fast-food industry to help contribute to the household. I knew that I wanted to do more with my life, so I worked hard. I graduated high school. Then, I went to work at Mutual of Omaha with my mother doing clerical work and attended community college. When 9/11 happened, I decided to join the Air Force. I had to wait six months to begin basic training, so I worked in retail at two different stores while I waited. In the Air Force, I worked hard, and I excelled at it. Everything I have experienced provided me with the drive and dedication that I have to succeed today. When I entered the Air Force in December 2001, I was a Crew Chief in Aircraft Maintenance. It is a male-dominated career field. I was one of two girls out of a hundred people in my tech school for six months. I ran circles around the males in my training program. It is a pattern that continued throughout my career and led me to be one of a handful of female instructors in some fifty years of the program. In 2013, I left the Airforce and had my son. My focus shifted to my education. I have my teaching practicum hours while I was an instructor and two Associates' degrees in Applied Science. Additionally, I have been attending Grand Canyon University and have almost completed a Bachelor's in psychology. When I am not at work or school, I enjoy reading, going to movies or out to eat, and spending time with my family. ✉ Heather.alaniz09@gmail.com ☎ (623) 398-5557 Military Veteran | Aircraft | Aviation | U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) | Inspection | Military Operations | Aircraft Maintenance | Maintenance | Aerospace | Customer Service | Troubleshooting | Team Leadership | Operational Planning | Process Improvement | Training | Avionics | Military Expertise | Program Management | Air Force | Leadership | Management | Veterans | Defense | Information Assurance | National Security | Team Building | Military Training | Security Clearance | Team Leadership

I provide representation for veterans in Board of Veterans Appeals Hearings and counsel veterans on Board of Veteran Appeals Procedures. In my current role, I like using my talents to help others and representing veterans in their hearings with federal judges. I learn a lot about federal court proceedings. I may not have much legal training, but I’m still winning cases. Additionally, I review VA claims decisions for errors and provide instructions to veteran service officers on how to make corrections. With an extensive knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulation, I assist the training manager with training conferences and training new hires. I enjoy helping veterans and helping people in general. I am good at it. I enjoy doing it and using my knowledge of government rules and regulations. ══ SPECIALTIES ══ Military Veteran | Aircraft | Aviation | U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) | Inspection | Military Operations | Aircraft Maintenance | Maintenance | Aerospace | Customer Service | Troubleshooting | Team Leadership | Operational Planning | Process Improvement | Training | Avionics | Military Expertise | Program Management | Air Force | Leadership | Management | Veterans | Defense | Information Assurance | National Security | Team Building | Military Training | Security Clearance | Team Leadership Show less
