Heather Beard is Executive Director of EarthShare NC, a coalition that connects businesses with the work of 28 NC based and 70+ national nonprofits working for the health of our natural resources, communities, and people. Under Heather’s leadership, EarthShare NC has formed partnerships with more than 100 North Carolina businesses to engage employees in natural resource conservation and restoration through education, hands on projects, and financial contributions. Backed by a strong and diverse board of directors, she led the development of the Corporate Partner program—launching in 2021— a year round catalyst for large scale corporate engagement in work to protect the health of our air, land, water, wildlife, and communities. Earthshare Corporate partners use education, experiences, and team building to deliver measurable impact—for local communities and for the businesses themselves. Heather serves on the EarthShare National Board and Executive Committee, leads youth in their journey to adulthood, and participates in local food security organization PORCH. Native to Durham, North Carolina, Heather earned a degree in Business Administration at Meredith College and a Masters in Environmental Policy at Tufts University.
