Heather Caplan RDN (she/her) founded and directed events, partnerships, and resources at Weight Inclusive Nutrition and Dietetics (WIND) from 2018-2024. Additionally, she's the co-founder of the Lane 9 Project (L9P), an online community of support for athletes with eating disorders and disordered eating. L9P is currently (2024) working with high school and collegiate running programs to train coaches and athletic support staff on protocols for eating disorder screenings, advocating for hormonal health amongst athletes at all levels, and creating more sustainable environments for athletes to not only compete but also thrive. WIND events reached thousands of weight-inclusive practitioners, bringing weight-inclusive, gender-affirming, progressive continuing education and community to healthcare providers, students, and interns. They hosted over 100 hours in continuing education focused on weight-inclusive care, research, and advocacy since 2018. Most recently (2023), WIND launched the first professional membership for weight-inclusive providers, activists, interns, and students, with over 450 active members.Heather's work has been featured in national publications such as The Washington Post, NBC News, the TODAY Show, Runner's World, Fitness Magazine, Outside Magazine, and EatingWell.
