I am an undergraduate student studying psychology at the University of Surrey who is an aspiring Clinical Psychologist.I am a passionate mental health volunteer who puts people at the forefront of my work. Through my experience as a mental health volunteer for my student union, my communication skills have been developed to work with and support mentally vulnerable people calmly and effectively, whilst making them feel safe. Furthermore, I have shown myself to be a reliable volunteer through consistent shift sign-up and also a quick thinker in emotionally testing situations.Previous work has further helped build my people skills, such as communication, teamwork, and consideration. Through working in retail, I learned that communication is key because anything misunderstood by a customer could mean far more work for my team, meaning that I only worked at my best to ensure all people in my role were supported.I am currently looking for opportunities and experience within mental health and also psychological research. Summer internships would be ideal.
