I'm delighted to say I've taken on a temporary, part time, role working with the team as they look to replace their previous finance and resources manager. There really are few things more important than protecting our planet for current and future generations. My first day was yesterday and I found a great, hard working team, who welcomed me and I'm looking forward to what comes next. Whilst I'm stilllooking to do interesting things, this will be my focus for the short term.

Member of a team providing oversight and scrutiny to the QKS MAT. The role needed understanding of MATs, the constantly changing educational framework, governance responsibilities and the ability to provide effective support and challenge in equal measure.

Invited to be a director of the MAT to support the QKS in further developing its contribution to education, Joint vice chair from March 2017. Resigned as director September 2017 whilst remaining a Member of the Trust.

Member of full governing body, chair of Business Finance & HR Committee Sept 2015 - July 2017. Vice chair of governing body from September 2014 to 2016 during which period governance frameworks were streamlined and simplified leading to a more focused governing body. Worked closely to support the new head teacher & following a challenging Ofsted inspection. Also acted as link governor and worked with the finance and HR teams.

Acted as a governor in one of the largest primary schools in Cumbria.Chair for four of these years, vice chair for one. During this time we reviewed and restructured governance to bring a clear focus to delivering the key responsibilities of school governors. Supported the school through a successful Ofsted visit and worked closely with the head teacher in many areas. As chair I was a member of the 3 governor committees with a special interest in finance and staffing.
