After starting my scientific career in neuroscience, I made the decision that I wanted to use those skills towards supporting the environment instead. Since my PhD I have taken on various conservation research roles across three continents before settling on African ecology. I now coordinate multiple research sites across southern Africa, working with researchers from around the world to collect data aimed at improving our knowledge of the local ecosystems and how we might best protect them.
