Represent Oakland County in civil litigation and act as legal counsel for County administrators and elected officials, involving the review of legal documents, legal research and writing, and trial work. Render legal counsel on such matters as reimbursement, civil rights, Drainage Board rights of way and employee discipline, and ensure the completeness and accuracy of legal documents to which the County is party. Conduct mental health commitment hearings, file and renew copyrights and trademarks, protect County’s trademark and copyright interests, monitor and respond to legal issues involving social media. Instruct and advise law enforcement on issues such as arrests, liability and mental health commitments.

Instructor for CJ 380, Criminal Procedure. Responsible for all aspects of curriculum, testing and grading. Position ended when Marygrove eliminated their undergraduate programs.

Warrants and Screening Division-January 2008-June 2014• Reviewed 4000 to 6000 warrants annually.• Prepared in excess of 3000 memorandum to investigators and prosecutors and conducted more than 300 witness interviews annually. • Specialized in financial crimes, computer crimes, fraud and terrorism.Felony Trials Division – • Specially Assigned Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. One of three Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys handling the most complicated and serious cases within the division, including Homicide, Criminal Sexual Conduct, Armed Robbery and Embezzlement over $100,000. Trained and provided in-court supervision for junior Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys. • Responsible for conducting numerous felony jury trials, pretrial preparation and motion practice for majority of cases before assigned court or on a floating basis.• Implemented practices and measures which reduced docket backlog significantly.Special Operations-Community Prosecution -• Specially Assigned Prosecuting Attorney acting as “in-house prosecutor” for multiple Detroit Police Department Precincts. • Vertically prosecuted all non-homicide capital, high profile or especially complicated cases within assigned districts, such as fraud and embezzlement. • Improved case closure and conviction rates and reduced dismissals utilizing prosecutorial tools such as investigative subpoenas, immunity agreements and witness detainers, maintaining an office at each precinct, providing 24 hour availability for guidance and search warrant review and providing frequent in house training for officers and investigators. • Improved community relations by representing the Prosecutor on multiple community boards and committees and regularly attending community meetings where duties included fielding questions, addressing concerns and providing follow up, reporting on recent events and conducting presentations related to prosecution and safety.
