Responsible for providing direct oversight for all HIM and CDI functions across the health system which comprises of 5 hospitals and over 50 physician practices. Functions include hospital and physician coding, CDI, denials management, analysis, transcription, scanning, master patient index, duplicate medical records, overlays, and records management.

Responsible for coordinating health information management (HIM) and Coding services across the multi-facility, integrated health network, establishing global policy/procedure, and providing direct oversight for all Health Information Management functions across the integrated health network. As the HIM Director I oversee the HIM operations for 2 acute care hospitals, rehab facility, skilled nursing facility, home care, hospice and records management for all of our ambulatory and specialty care practices. Responsibilities include medical records, facility coding, release of information, transcription, birth certificates, data integrity, facility and centralized scanning. I oversee our Coding Education program that was launched Spring of 2015 to eliminate the need for contract coders. Developed and deployed health information management systems as part of the integrated health network's standards for data quality and ethical practice.

Responsible for managing all operations of the Health Information Management Department including Coding and Reimbursement, Transcription, Documentation Improvement, RAC, Medical Record Completion, Physician Suspension, Forms Management, and Release of Information. Responsible for working on multiple projects related to implementation of electronic health records and understanding the required interfaces for successful implementaiton related to the legal medical record.

Responsible for managing the daily functions of a coding department and managing the scheduling workflow for three acute care hospitals. Responsible for strategic planning, goal setting, organizing and evaluating the coding department for a 400+bed acute care hospital.
