Working within the community and engaging with multi agencies is the main focus of a Community Officer. Part of the role is to gather evidence and attach it to crimes so an officer can investigate and take the evidence to court if needed. Visiting local schools and give training and advice to teachers in regards to training packs as well as delivering lessons to pupils around subjects like County Lines/stranger danger/ fireworks safety and many other subjects.Gather knowledge and intelligence on local issues/ suspects and maintaining a relationship with the local community and nominals.As we are at the forefront we are First Aid trained and I have had to use these skills on several occasions just recently.

During this time I visited the manufacturers of the products we sold so that I fully understood the workings of the products as well as understanding how they needed to be fitted.I would visit the customers homes and listen to their wants and needs then give advice on how best they could gain that. I was trained in how to measure the windows in the customers homes in order to have tracks/poles/ curtains and blinds fitted in a way which suited the style and shape of the windows. I would give advice on fabrics and how they would hang it sit on the window they chose.I would mainly work by myself and cover West Yorkshire. I had my own personal van which I would stock with samples to show customers how things would look in their homes. I would then measure and quote the customer there and then in their homes and if accepted I would process the order and ensure it was a smooth and timely process for the customer from start to finish.I would personally oversee any issues should they arrive and keep customers up to date with their orders progression.

Having full access to the entire store to oversee security and safety of the building/ products/ customers and staff. I would often show contractors around and ensure their work was completed in a timely manner. I would create access cards for all staff members as well as adding or removing access to areas as and when required. We would assist on stock takes and investigate any discrepancies in stock or takings. Using a modern CCTV system I would investigate thefts and create files for suspects and build a case to ensure enough evidence was supplied for court when thefts by staff or customers were committed. I would engage with other stores and BACIL which was a stores online community where suspects of crimes were uploaded to a secure system in order to gain identity of the suspects. This was all done with the engagement of the local Police.

This is a volunteer role, you are given a backpack full of emergency first aid equipment including a defibrillator and oxygen tank. You are given a mobile phone which is connected to the Ambulance service and they call you at home to assist with the Ambulance crews by arriving first on scene in your own vehicle to calls of possible stroke\ heart attack and symptoms along those lines. This role helps to ease the calls to emergency services as you attend and assess calls within your local area. You're also an extra helping hand when the Ambulance crews arrive.

Tasks include leading promotion changes, accepting deliveries, delivery of training to staff, rota changes and many more. Burning CCTV for Police when thefts occur and attending weekly meetings with other store Managers to discuss any changes\policies and business information.

I worked in a small team within the restaurant kitchen. I would prepare food orders alongside my colleagues to ensure all orders went to the customers together. I would need to do preparation for the next day as well as ordering stock for my section from the wholesalers. I would need to plan and make what would we would have for the week ahead and assist my colleagues in keeping the area and equipment clean
