1. Designs and conducts recruitment/outreach programs.2. Sponsors the drama club and International Thespian Society.3. Teaches acting principles and techniques to individuals and groups.4. Teaches voice development and dialects, using voice exercises.5. Demonstrates vocal/body expression to teach acting styles and character development.6. Produces and directs plays for school and public performances.7. Auditions students to select cast and assign parts.8. Rehearses and drills students to ensure they master parts.9. Assigns non-performing students to backstage production tasks.10. Selects script for production.11. Pays all royalties, rental fees, and other fees/bills associated with a production12. Secures and reserves rehearsal and performance facilities with building administration.13. Advises principal with scheduling of district activities in the high school theatre.14. Other duties as assigned by the principal or other administrative staff.15. Oversees proper organization and storage of stock theatrical units and school-owned equipment 16. Organizes, plans, and directs the respective play including being responsible for: Publicity- Costume and properties rental and purchase- Lighting, Sound, and Set Design- Construction- Ticket sales- Developing rehearsal schedule17. Enforces academic requirements and verifies each student’s eligibility to participate in theatre activities.18. Submits a year-end report including: List of participants, awards/honors received, summary of activities, and recommends improvements.19. Complies with Federal/State laws, SDCE, and Board of Education policies.20. Ensures the safety of students during class and productions21. Orders all supplies/materials for theatre in accordance with district procedures and budget.22. Prepares lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student differences.23. Uses appropriate instructional/learning strategies and activities.
