• Assist patrons at the reference desk in person and by phone and email; assist in locating information; provide readers advisory services.• Instruct patrons in the use of computers and other electronic devices.• Instruct patrons in the use of online resources. • Assist patrons with printing and using a variety of software. • Schedule events in the library’s public meeting rooms.• Register patrons for library events.• Assist library volunteers in the course of their various duties: shelving, processing holds, calling patrons, and arranging items for the book sale. • Proctor exams for the public by appointment. • Maintain and repair books and other collection items.• Process collection discards.• Process new books being added to the collection.• Analyze donations for use as replacements, for sale, or to recommend addition to the collection. • Design and produce signs and displays. • Maintain the “Upcoming Releases” page of the library’s website.• Verify the accuracy of patron membership applications, finding and eliminating duplicates, and correcting missing or inaccurate information. • Assist in instructional classes for adults through Fayette Senior Services, covering the use of digital resources and social media.• Represent the library at community events, including the Dragon Boat Festival 2017 and 2018, and May Play Day 2018. • Act as shift supervisor in the absence of other department supervisors (at least one evening per week). • Perform opening and closing procedures for library facility.

• Assist patrons at the circulation desk; check materials in and out; collect fines; issue library membership cards. • Assist patrons in person or by phone, answering questions, and /or redirecting questions to the appropriate person; assist users in locating, selecting, and using resources; provide directional and services related information to users; communicate library use policies and procedures to users. • Assist patrons in using Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) - PINES (Public Information Network for Electronic Services) Catalog• Sort and shelve materials; maintain an orderly arrangement of materials. • Print holds list and pull holds from the library collection; prepare holds for transit to Flint River Regional Libraries and to PINES libraries; process incoming holds for the library.• Monitor physical condition of materials and recommend repair or de-selection.• Prepare weekly overdue reports.
