In my current role I participate in treatment regimen selection and design to maximize therapeutic benefit and minimize toxicity for patients treated in a community oncology and hematology practice. Research and answer therapeutic questions from different members of health care team including inpatient pharmacotherapeutic issues. Responsible for assisting with education, counseling and monitoring of patients receiving infusion therapy as well as patients receiving oral anticancer agents. Provide nursing, provider and pharmacy in-services. Responsible for protocol and pathway development including Cerner Power Chart Oncology development and review. Precept pharmacy students and residents and oversee projects. Perform formulary management reviews and present at Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.My experience in informatics working as a Willow and Beacon Analyst has been extremely helpful in understanding the critical inputs that make an electronic medical record perform optimally to enhance patient care and safe medication delivery. As the lead analyst on a Decision Support Team I became acquainted with the powerful tools that can be utilized to analyze and assist healthcare teams make better patient care decisions.
