As in-house writer and editor for FresYes Realty | FresYes.com, I had the pleasure of overseeing the community website, a space for regular and guest contributors to share blog posts about the cool stuff happening in and around Fresno. I proofread and edited these posts, and also was responsible for my own stories. In addition, I assumed the role of social media manager, handling all business accounts. I also wrote realty-focused collateral including mailers, postcards, and email campaigns.

As Marketing Coordinator for tech company Edit LLC, I was tasked with engaging potential clients through the site's blog, which focused on solutions to everyday website problems from finding a site designer to drawing traffic. I also was responsible for creating email marketing campaigns, and was the company's social media manager. Although it wasn't specifically outlined in my job description, I assumed the role of de facto office manager, coordinating team lunches and choosing community organizations for fundraising opportunities.

Working as a Grant Writer for ValleyPBS's Educational Services department was my first foray into nonprofit work. I researched grant opportunities and wrote LOIs and grant proposals. I also wrote media releases and attended community events on behalf of the company.

For six years I was a writer for The Fresno Bee's entertainment site, FresnoBeehive.com. I helped build the Bee's online presence by creating a community of dedicated readers through daily blog posts and community-focused events. In 2016, the newspaper asked me to return to their site to write a daily roundup of notable stories, which was called The Morning Scoop.
