I began my career wanting to work in the fitness industry. I loved the idea of bringing people together and helping them be their best. After working at a fitness club for some years, I knew that I wanted to do something new. I wanted to continue interacting with and bringing people together, but I also wanted to learn new things and see projects from start to finish. Fast forward to now - I have spent the last 20 years bringing people together by producing events all over the world. I started behind the scenes and worked my way up to leading some of the largest corporate events in the country. The kinds of events that I produce are more than the typical, stale events; they are more like experiences – from how the attendees enter the building, to the messaging and the look and feel. I have led teams of many including direct reports, vendors, clients and partners to execute on some of the most challenging, complex, tone-setting events in the tech industry. I have led the event management starting with conversations around ideation and bringing these concepts to life under strict timelines, aggressive budgets and scheduling all the way to post-event reporting and analysis. I do all of this while building trust and relationships with internal and external clients, vendors, and partners. The key to effective event management is effective project management, and project management sits squarely in my wheelhouse. I enjoy the process; it motivates me to my core. I am organized, efficient and process driven with the ability to usher teams and organizations through change. I am a strategic thinker who generates big ideas but also applies a good dose of realism and delivers on time and under or at budget.What I love about my work is that – it is not always “work.” Seeing a program from beginning to end is satisfying. Once you debrief post program, you can always bring in new ideas and thoughts for the next one. It is a cycle of learning, innovating and executing. As those in the fitness industry say – the result is a product of the journey. Project Management is just that for me – leading a program down a path to incredible results while working with and mentoring incredible people along the way.
