I was the estimating/customer service department for Muscle Bound Bindery. I handled about 99% of the estimates and many customer service calls. I answered production and job-planning questions, made templates and layouts for customers, assembled and sent out product sample packages, and also gave referrals for work we couldn't do. I was primarily office-based, but occasionally did go out to meet with customers. I was the point-of-contact person for the "info@mbbindery" link on our website and also for most phone-based inquiries. I also assisted accounting by sending out and processing credit applications and helping with billing when needed.I also handled a lot of front-end work on upcoming jobs - coordinating with scheduling, the customer and any outside vendors to ensure the job was laid out and produced correctly and ample production time was allowed. I handled ordering, coordinating and overseeing any production necessary for special-oder items such as cover materials, colored endsheets, and foil stamping/ embossing services, etc.In addition to my estimating/customer service/sales roles, I also helped contribute to marketing. In 2011, I developed the concept, designed, took many of the photos, and wrote most of the content for Muscle Bound's new 42 page promotional brochure. The electronic prepress was handled by Grow Sales, but I was involved in nearly every aspect of it's development and production. It was a fantastic experience that allowed me to gain valuable insight to the "other side" of making a book. The brochure was awarded "Best in Class" in the Promotional Materials category in the PIM Star Awards competition for 2011, and 2nd place in the Graphic Finisher Self-Promotion category at the 2012 BIA Product of Excellence Awards.I also wrote much of the content for our monthly email tip series and occasionally stepped in front of the camera for short informational and educational videos that became a part of many of these mailers.
