I have worked in the Agri-Food industry for the past 25 years. I attended Agricultural college in Truro and worked on a variety of farms through this period. I took a year break in my studies to travel to New Zealand where I worked on a dairy farm in an exchange program. Upon graduation I accepted a position with Canada Packers as a hatchery foreman in Sussex ,NB. After a year, I was promoted to the position of procurement specialist at their poultry plant. At this same time my husband and I developed our own farm and I went on to co-manage this for the next 17 years. Over this time we went from a mixed farm to a large sheep operation which including a marketing business. In 2010, I transitioned into a new challenge and accepted a position at Co-op Atlantic, initially in the customer service department which provides store support. After a few months I was asked to also work customer service at the feed mill facility as well for part of my day. I did that for a year and then accepted a full time position on customer service in the farm supply department. When my latest position was created I moved to Product Specialist Assistant and the job has evolved to include transportation, with the emphasis on in bound freight to our warehouse. I have a common sense approach to issues. I enjoy problem solving and working through to a solution.
