I develop materials for high performance training and running models and am the first line of connection between our supplier base and the development and design teams. I have built a large supplier base with my previous knowledge and experience at other brands and have created a materials library that is growing and expanding. I have many responsibilities that include working closely with footwear development, footwear design and color design. I create and establish approved material palettes, manage our testing standards, and work closely with our factory to make sure the materials are arriving to the factory on time and that each material is tested at the supplier and the factory. I research materials for each model and make sure there are back-ups for each material if they do not pass or do not meet design specs.

At Lululemon I develop materials with the design team and work cross-functionally with footwear developers, color team, merchandise, brand, and many others to create world-class footwear including running models, outdoor footwear, and lounge footwear. I work closely withour supplier base and order, develop, and test our materials to the highest of footwear standards. I also am in charge of building out the materials library at the HQ of footwear for lululemon involving working with facilities, WHQ lululemon libraries, and our supplier base to build a leading library for our footwear team. I wear many hats at lululemon and build processes to put in place such as creating material data sheets to send to suppliers for materials,material stickers for headers for hangers, and other excel-criven work. I am the first point of contact between the supplier and the designers and make sure all processes for each season move smoothly for each model.

As a Material Developer in Nike Sportswear, Men's category, I work closely with material and footwear design in all aspects of development, tracking, and timely commercialization and am a crucial part of cross-functional projects. My knowledge of textiles, leathers, synthetic leathers, chemical polymers, and components as they apply to footwear development helps to facilitate problem solving, anticipate potential problems, manage project execution and meet deadlines on a daily basis. I have a strong rapport with over 80 material vendors and am fluent in the resources that they offer as well as possess the ability to perform research and analyze material testing standards

Footwear materials development and material design support, working closely with the material development community, driving prompt execution of commercialization/approvals, and supporting systems-based maintenance. Management of consistency and integrity of standards & data at all times, staying up to date on Nike physical performance test specifications and ensuring all requirements are met. Support in all aspects of development, tracking and timely commercialization as well as an integral team member of the material development team and cross-functional projects. In charge of creating category tools and visual summaries, entering material data into systems and owning data governance, tracking category development and managing analytics.

Project lead/project manager of Digital Materials App, the Exeter Material Center’s new digital library project, material inventory management and organization, collaboration with material operations staff, footwear design and development, and various Nike organizations. Vendor and supply relationship communication including daily material management, quality control, and assistance with both the Nike Material show and NW Material show planning. High-level knowledge of material properties and awareness of trend and performance relating to category needand fostering an environment that supports cross-category creativity, inspiration,and discovery. Education involvement and creation of material resources, mostspecifically, engineered textiles, as well as daily cataloging and preparation ofmaterials that include textiles, leathers, synthetics, and components.
