Some of this work includes planning and executing client and practice group-related events, conducting research on potential clients, developing pitches for new and expanded business, answering RFP’s, and researching sponsorship and speaking opportunities for our attorneys. The main focus of my position with RealtySouth was to assist our Realtors with their personal marketing efforts. This included a variety of tasks like helping them develop a marketing plan, quoting, writing and overseeing their individual marketing projects (postcards, flyers, ads, etc.) to training them on our marketing/technology products like their personal websites, our company intranet, our print-on-demand platform and social media. I also conceptualized and wrote the Marketing Moment, a monthly in-house marketing newsletter that helps agents with marketing ideas and give them tips for promoting their business. In addition to my direct dealings with our Realtors, I did some sourcing, working with promotional product vendors to locate specific ad specialty items Realtors and/or management may need for marketing purposes. I also managed RealtySouth's Pinterest account and monitored company branding as it applied to Realtor marketing items.

Willow House was a direct selling company that formed in 2010 when Entertaining at Home bought Southern Living at Home, a division of the Time, Inc.-owned Southern Progress. A year later, the company became dual-division when it partnered with Atlanta-based jewerly designer Sara Blaine to offer an exclusive private label collection of handcrafted keepsake jewelry. In the fall of 2012, Willow House began phasing out the home decor division to focus soley on designer jewelry. The company closed its doors December 31, 2013. During my eight years with the company, I sold both home decor product and designer jewelry through private home parties. I also managed my own team of representatives, so part of my job included coaching, training, mentoring and event/meeting planning.

As a sales assistant, I coordinated promotional calendars and schedules, designed customized media sales proposals, created quarterly ratings report for over 400 clients and managed account lists. As creative director, I continued to help the sales department with some of these tasks, but focused mainly on writing. I wrote, edited and proofed radio commercials for local clients, developed copy ideas with clients and sales staff and wrote station promos.

As an intern in WBRC's Tuscaloosa newsroom for one semester, I wrote news copy, edited video, coordinated interviews and assisted with field reporting. At the time, this newsroom was a one-man operation, so I had the benefit of getting hands-on experience in all facets of news reporting, from concept to finish.
